Edgar Valdez

Undergraduate Electrical Engineer – University of California, Santa Cruz

Project Lead: Edgar is a 5th year student studying Electrical Engineering with a focus in radio frequency hardware design and analog electronics. Along with RF hardware design, he has an interest in autonomous systems and sensor design. As project leader, he is in charge of assuring the documentation and administrative meetings run efficiently. He will be leading the design of the of the optical system and power distribution of the UAV. He will also be in charge of developing and integrating any neccessary sensors on the UAV.

 

Eric Paredes

Undergraduate Computer Engineer – University of California, Santa Cruz

Eric is a 5th year student studying Computer Engineering with a concentration in Digital Hardware. Eric has an interest in working with microcontrollers and programming languages. He has taken the microprocessor class and is familiar with PCB design programs, such as Capture and Allegro. He will be leading the development of the programming algorithms necessary for autnomous flight. Along with that, he will be working with Mathew on enhancing the UAV's controls and stability.

 

Mathew Silva

Undergraduate Computer Engineer – University of California, Santa Cruz

Matthew Silva is a 5th year student studying Computer Engineering with a concentration in Robotics. Matthew Silva has taken programming classes such as Intro to Java, Data Structures, Algorithms and Abstract Data Types, and Microprocessor System Design. He has experience with Eagle schematics and PCB layout design as well as Solidworks 3-D design. He will be heading the design of the precise navigation system and will take the lead in the development of custom mechanical systems for our UAV.
